Man Hurt When Struck by Wagon Wheel
John Marlow of this city was run down by a wagon in Morrison Creek bottom while hauling logs to Sullivan. He tripped on a stump, the front wheel fractured his right elbow bone. Murf Draper aided in taking him to Sullivan for treatment. Mrs. Franklin Robbins and family express thanks for support during illness and death of their husband and father.

Escape on E. T. H. train ends in recapture
Alva Lowell, a Farmersburg youth being taken to the Indianapolis insane hospital by his step father Jacob Calgazier, jumped from the moving north bound train near Pimento last Wednesday. He fled back to Farmersburg but was recaptured.

Fatal Hit By Nashville Limited Near Shelburn
Charles Ringo aged 38 was struck and killed instantly by the Nashville limited near Shelburn on the E and T H railroad shortly after seven oclock Tuesday. He had been in Shelburn that afternoon, intoxicated, and said he was going to his mother Mrs Ward Jewell six miles west of Shelburn. The north bound engine or fireman later struck the body bringing it to Shelburn. Ringo was a coal miner at Glendora mines and had been in Sullivan Monday night. He had been married and separated from his wife, a divorce suit pending in the circuit court. his wife lived in Terre Haute.

Death of Franklin Robbins prominent Sullivan farmer
Franklin Robbins long a county resident and farmer died of heart failure last Friday at his home east of Sullivan. Born December 8, 1838 in the county, he was the son of John and Eliza Robbins pioneers. He owned 220 acres east of Sullivan and had one daughter Anna B. and four sons Theos J Noah O Frank L and Glessie G survive. Funeral services were held Sunday at his residence at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev F M Roberts. Burial was at Center Ridge.

The Sullivan county Teachers Association held its regular annual session last Friday and Saturday. Dr. Kinman of Central Normal College gave helpful work while county teachers on the program delivered high quality lessons. The Friday audience at the Methodist church enjoyed Mgr. Robert J. Burdette’s lecture The Rise and Fall of the Mustache, a debut in Sullivan that drew broad praise for its mix of pathos and humor.

Missing board trade operator O W Pierce described as prospering
O W Pierce of Sullivan reportedly ran a local board of trade office at the Crowder building. He left town Friday night after drawing on a bank account and leaving a $26.95 unpaid board bill. Authorities note possible losses to customers and plan to audit Pierce's books to locate any deficit. Pierce is described as about 32, heavy set, medium height.

McKee School Box Supper Honors Pupils 1903
Miss Lulu Wagner hosted a box supper at McKee school house on Wednesday evening November 25 1903. The program featured a Thanksgiving Cantata recitations and pantomime by students Inez Case Lulu Reed Sylvia Snyder and Aud Mason among others. Sylvia Snyder won a book for most handsome girl and Aud Mason won a hairbrush for ugliest boy in a large vote.
