Former resident Addison W Harris dies after surgical operation
Addison W Harris a former resident of this county died on July Fourth from a surgical operation in Kansas City. He was born in Fairbanks township in 1856 and was a pioneer son of James Harris who helped sell town lots for Sullivan. He lived across Colorado and New Mexico before settling in Silver City and briefly Alaska during the Nome rush. He left Colorado in 1892 and later resided in Silver City with a brief Alaska sojourn. He was married and survived by brothers Madison Harris of Sullivan and Jacob Harris of Montgomery as well as Mrs Pat McEneny of this city.

Farmersburg August 6 Marshal Charles Shepherd raided rooms above the Farmersburg bank last night. One man and one woman were found. the woman was ordered to leave town at once. George Sharpe’s saloon license expired at 11 o'clock Monday night making the last Curry township saloon a thing of the past. Marshal Shepherd supervised the closing at 11.

John Wooley, injured by a train near Cincinnati, died from his injuries. his funeral was held on Monday. He was the son of Simeon Wooley.

Runaway accident claims Mrs. Hilderbrand near Oaktown
Mrs. Anna Hilderbrand wife of Phillip Hilderbrand died after a runaway wagon incident on Nash hill five miles south of the city. Gene Hudson, driver of the mule team, assisted in the seizure halt but Mrs. Hilderbrand was thrown and died Sunday afternoon. Survived by a daughter and two sons.

Oil Operator Frederick Boden Dies After Illness
Frederick E Boden, 63, prominent oil operator, died Monday morning at his home after a brief illness described as paralysis. A native of New York, he lived in Bradford Pennsylvania and later Sullivan, aided oil field development in the county. He drilled the Boden well on Julius Hoseman’s farm and is survived by his wife and two sons, John Boden and F B Boden Jr.

Explosion in Shelburn mine kills two men
Shelburn, Aug 6. An explosion in the old Shelburn mine shortly after 9 am killed two men, rockman George Anderson and mine boss Frank Delashmutt. Delashmutt died instantly. Anderson died at St. Anthony's hospital after being rushed there. The mine, owned by A H Whitsett & Co now under a receiver, had been inspected by the pair yesterday. Gas and lamps are suspected as a cause. smoke blocked a second descent for over an hour. Delashmutt, 45, left creditors including Whitsett and lodge members. Anderson, 30, leaves a wife and child.

Myron Harris Burned In Home Made Oil Well Explosion
Friday morning Myron Harris the 12 year old son of Judge O B Harris of this city visited the Jamison oil well west of the city then tried to shoot a miniature oil well. He used powder from gun shells and lighted it burning his face and clothing. Eyewitnesses helped extinguish the flames and his eyes were not injured. He is recovering from serious facial burns. Clarence Lester plans to farm rice in Elena Texas after moving northwest of here.
