Man Sentenced for Life in First Degree Murder

Wilbur Glenn Voliva, Merom graduate and Dowie successor, has become head of the Christian Catholic Apostolic church in Zion. Sluder Sentenced to Life for Gold Knob Murder
In Clay Circuit Court Judge Colliver overruled a new trial motion and sentenced Jesse Sluder to life imprisonment for the murder of Ralston Cardwell at Gold Knob last July. Sheriff Bray will transport him to Michigan City penitentiary tomorrow. Sluder, who denies guilt, is reported to be despondent and may attempt self-harm.
