Death of James Marion former Steubenville mayor
James Marion longtime Steubenville resident and former mayor died Tuesday morning at 717 North Fourth Street at about TG ov clock. Born in Philadelphia, he served in the War Department, ran a grocery and bakery business, and was active in local politics as a Republican earlier and a Democrat later. He led the Brert Denville Poltsry Company and served on county boards. his death followed a yearslong battle with a motor neuron illness. He is survived by two sisters and a daughter, and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.
