Confirmation of Carson's Appointment in Ohio Senate
Columbus March 20 all 103 appointments made by the late Governor Pattison were confirmed by the State Senate with only three exceptions Oscar T Carson of Franklin County as state university trustee and Michael D B Ratchford of Stark County as labor statistics commissioner and W E Kennedy of Hamilton County as chief examiner of steam engineers were confirmed after a close vote Meek had campaigned against Corson and Arbenz Republican ally joined to approve his confirmation despite not voting earlier the roll showed 18 for Corson and 19 required for a majority Duval also voted yes while Arbenz abstained until his name was called and then supported the measure.

Columbus March 20 If the senate concurs in house changes the people will vote this fall on the most radical constitutional change since 1851 The house adopted the Atwell joint resolution to let the people form the third house and enact laws through initiative and referendum The measure passes with a majority of the total vote required and the Tinker amendment failing 4 to 63 Jones of Jefferson supported the bill

Boiler Explosion Injures Three at Abrams Farm Saw Mill
A boiler from a saw mill on George Abrams farm three miles east of Richmond exploded Thursday around 4 pm. Three men were injured, two seriously. William Abrams suffered severe steam burns but not life threatening. James Oler, owner of the mill, was badly bruised by flying debris. Bert Bake of Richmond felt a painful injury but not serious.
