48 Bodies Found After Chicago Crib Fire Tragedy
In a South Chicago morgue hundreds gathered around thirty gunny sacks holding remains of 48 people killed in a crib fire. Rescuers doubt the total, as ten more may be in the lake bottom. A coroner hearing is set for Saturday to probe causes and building methods, with an industry-wide investigation begun. List of missing names accompanies a grim tally as injuries flood Southside hospitals.
