Miners and Mechanics' Bank of Steubenville Ohio declares the usual semi annual dividend at four percent per year and an extra Christmas dividend of one percent for 1908. Dividends payable on presentation of pass books or retained will carry dividend to John Potter, treasurer.
People's National Bank Steubenville Ohio announces the annual election of directors for the ensuing year, to be held at the bank on Tuesday, December 22th between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. L. L. Grimes, Cashier.
Local man Leo F. Zelinski of 68 Gibson Street Buffalo credits Bucklen’s Arnica Salve with curing a severe cold sore in two days after a single daily application. Salve sold under guarantee at Booth and Steele’s drug store for 25 cents.
A fragment claims Dr. Thomas Relectric Of treats disease with eight years of family use and hails Burdock Blood Bitters as building sound health. It also touts Foley's Orino Laxative for chronic constipation and natural bowel action, mentioning Beall & Steele in Buffalo.
An odd ad notes the removal of the appendix by the “3 surgeon” amid boasts for Dr King’s New Life Pills. It claims the pills work quietly, curing constipation headache biliousness and malaria and promotes Beall & Steele’s drug store as the place to buy them.
Advertisement claims Ely's Dream Balm cures nasal catarrh by removing causes, alleviating swelling and soreness of inflamed membranes, stopping sneezing fits and discharge, with cleanliness and renewed health. Sold by druggists for 50 cents or mail order from Ely Bros. New York.
Notice states no agents or representatives are authorized to secure oil or gas leases. Any claim of connection is fraudulent. Also cites endorsements for DeWitt's Little Early Risers and Kodol for Dyspepsia with testimonials and druggist availability.
Secretary Carmi A. Thompson implements a new Ohio bureau of vital statistics. District registrars start duties December 26 as births and deaths must be registered after December 20 1908. Physicians undertakers and sextons receive certified forms and instructions with penalties for noncompliance.
Ohio leads livestock improvement through strict breeding, feeding, and sound management. The article urges breeders to keep complete records, exhibit at county and state stock shows, and pursue information from courses and literature to achieve superior, uniform animals and a stronger state stock industry.
