Sterling Township High School adds several new staff across departments. Cheryl Capps joins Girls Physical Education from University of Missouri with camp counselor summer experience. Sharon Douthit, from Chillicothe Illinois, is a recent Illinois State Normal University graduate. Barbara Kraabel, Luther College alumna, taught in Sheldon Iowa and studied at Springfield College last summer. Edna Brooks joins English, a Rockford native with Illinois and Minnesota graduate work and Wausau teaching experience. Mrs. Joseph Novak will teach English and Spanish, resident of Rock Falls with study at UIUC NIU DeKalb and DePaul. Mr. Robert Hawkins, Kirksville State Teachers College graduate, will teach English and Business and advise the Script. Mr. E. I. Lehr, former Rock Falls teacher and superintendent. SHS Summer Changes and New Staff Overview
Upperclassmen are informed of SHS improvements this summer including a new college counseling office for Miss Krughoff, portraits of Mr. Eades and Mr. DeVoe, remodeled library offices for Miss Fadden, renumbered lockers on two floors, and a new private office for Mr. Musgrove in Room 221. New staff members Mrs. Alice Leavy and Miss Pat Hines join the office team as students adjust to updated procedures for absence and tardy slips.
