Five Week Reports Prompt Action By School Staff

Five week reports on students work were submitted to the principal by teachers last week. Students whose work is not passing are reported and parents receive a notice detailing the reason. Make up work is due within three weeks unless a longer period is specified by the teacher.

Senior Play "Out Of The Fryingpan" Slated For November

Sterling Township high school will present the senior play "Out of the Frying Pan" on November 18 and 19 in the school gym. Cast includes Bodell, Davis, Rees, Swehla, Dennison, Shannon, Ault, Lishman, Benson, McNeil, Coburn, Yeck, Garnet, Detweiler, Foster, Janssen, Kenny, Hang, Coburn, Bulmer, and two cops. Production co chairs are Marilu Heller and Johnnie Stager with multiple committees led by Don Dewey, Lena Ashpaugh, and Ansel Henderson arranging properties costumes business and publicity.

Junior Rotarians are selected by Rotary members to attend weekly meetings for three weeks, then new groups join. The aim is to expose senior-class boys to local business leaders, with emphasis on leadership, scholastic standing, and involvement in school and community activities.

Advisory Council Plans Several Evening Dances

The Student Advisory Council approves Homecoming dance after the Mendota game on October 15 in the gym. Haag and McNeil co chair the Halloween Frolic to be held Saturday October 30 at 7 30 in the gymnasium. Ralph Hang and Bettijeanne McNeil lead the committee with Carolyn Duprey Dorothy Stewart and others handling decor refreshments publicity and floor show. Admission is affordable and the event welcomes all faculty and students for a night of dancing and fun despite the lack of a dating focus.

Army Navy Qualifying Test Set For November 9

The Army Navy College Qualifying Test will be given at 9:00 A M on Tuesday November 9 in Miss Krughoffs room Room 8 at Township High School Candidates must be 17 but under 20 by March 1 1944 or be high school seniors graduating by March 1 Qualified students must choose Army or Navy on test day and results will report only that branch No changes allowed after the test date No deferrals to Selective Service for ASTP or Navy V-12 participation indicated.
