Bermuda Bounce at Y features Modernaires music

Bermuda shorts shine as the Co-ed Council hosts a Bermuda Bounce at the YMCA from 9 to 12 tonight for Sterling and Rock Falls High students and guests. Admission is 1.50 per couple and 1.00 for singles with music by the Modernaires.

Debaters Place High At Evanston Tourney

The SHS debate squad placed seventh among nineteen schools at Evanston Invitational. The affirmative team Gloria Kalen Judy Williams went 2 1, beating New Trier and Blue Island and losing to West Rockford. The negative team John Williams Bob Elfline also went 2 1, defeating Niles Morton and losing to Freeport. Their overall preseason record stands at seven wins and seven losses.

Sterling High undertakes a shrub and tree beautification on grounds using available funds. Rock River Landscaping Co. received the contract. Mr. Schick leads placement with 101 of 265 shrubs planted so far. Eades notes the display adds artistry to the building layout.
