The Gazebo opens this weekend at Sterling Coliseum
The Gazebo, a rollicking comedy about a murder mystery writer, opens Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are 1.00 for adults, .75 for students, and activity tickets are free. The play stars Wes Holly and Phil Callighan and runs May 9 at Sterling Coliseum.

Joel Booke Wins Zone O rator Title At Sterling Holiday Inn
Sophomore Joel Booke of STHS was named Optimist Club International Zone champion orator at the Holiday Inn in Sterling. He defeated rivals from Kewanee Geneseo Princeton Dixon and Rock Falls and will compete in the District Contest in Rockton Tinois on May 24. The district winner advances to the international event in Los Angeles California mid summer.

Balloon race sails from Vineland to New Jersey
The STHS Science Club held its first balloon race on April 17 at the GAA field. Balloons traveled from Vineland New Jersey and from Ohio and Indiana. Tom Erickson sent the farthest balloon. Sponsor James Ziegler said future events depend on student interest and that this year was more about fun and learning than profit.
