Editorial explains school policy requires faculty supervision during all sport workouts on the Gladiator machine. It cites liability risk to the school and school board from accidents and argues supervision protects athletes and improves the sports program at STHS.
Friday March 13 features basketball regional play and winter drama. Saturday 14 hosts Latin regional and winter play, while Tuesday 17 includes student council meeting and state basketball with FHA FFA NHS and Science Club. Friday 20 marks end of third quarter with state basketball and Easter recess plus Student Club Circus. Saturday 21 basketball state, Sunday 22 Robed Choir Palm Sunday concert, Monday 23 Wrestling and Basketball awards.
The March 3rd Student Council met second hour in room 306. Pins were handed out before the meeting opened at 9 36. Minutes were read and attendance taken. The dress code plan proposed a two month trial with no current dress rules and an alternate code if needed. A committee was sent to discuss with administration, which expressed doubt. The Variety Show needed act limits. Pine Brothers Cough Drops cards would be handed out to promote a school contest with a Tommy James and the Shondells concert prize for the top enrollment to card submissions. A committee to ensure old business is addressed was formed to speed newer items. Meeting adjourned at the bell ending second period.
