The 1970 Prom will be held May 23 from 8 30 to 11 30 at the STHS fieldhouse with post prom at Emerald Hill from midnight to 6 00 am Tickets are free for seniors and juniors who paid dues. Costs for tux rentals roses corsages photos favors and decorations outlined.
Debbie Howard reports Gazebo by Drama Work Shop at Sterling Coliseum May 8 9 a comedy about a famed TV murder mystery writer blackmailed by a crook who imagines the perfect murder. Cast includes Wes Holly Phil Galligan Peggy Hunsberger Debbie Williams Scott Sonoc Ed Jones and others. Directed by Robert Lindsey with David Weissenburger as Student Director. Admission one dollar adults seventy five cents students.
Sterling high school student council representatives travel to a state convention to discuss council roles and issues including dress code. Officers are elected to lead sessions, and the event aims to inspire new ideas and ambitions for the coming years. This year’s convention runs today and tomorrow, April 23 and 24.
Oltmanns as Managing Editor will oversee the paper with Dwight Oltmanns moving up. Tom Johnson will be next year editor, joined by three assistant editors Keith Benson Gordon Fortney and Tom Erickson. Steve Reyes remains Photo Editor and Neil Boyer becomes Sports Editor with Jeff Metcalfe as Assistant Sports Editor. Dave Weissenburger to head circulation. business staff to be chosen by Ray Miller.
