S H S band wins Class D and joins first division with LaSalle Peru as 21 bands compete for the Northwest district Illinois Band Association title at the Coliseum. Freeport and Rock Island garner top solo ensemble honors. Freeport wins parade cup. huge crowd sets attendance record.
