Editorial urges a student committee to reexamine the vague dress code. It proposes investigating the code’s purpose, considering a permanent student board, and possibly a code with specific measurements. Emphasizes student responsibility to approve and cooperate for a workable solution and to earn adult respect.
A public notice urges courtesy near a school as spring drag racing and risky driving disturb classes. It calls for responsible behavior, selling usable car parts to students, and safer stop at two school cross streets to protect children walking home.
The Script is a weekly student publication produced by Sterling Township High School students at 1608 4th Avenue. It serves as the school’s student voice and showcases campus news, features, and student opinions.
John Kalachnik and peers explain how the SHS Student Council uses its constitution. They say funds control is unused, administration schedules most interschool events, and elections cover student body races only. They note limited authority over student conduct and self rules, with a focused point system and small standing committees.
Kalachnik says the Council serves students by sponsoring the Variety Show and Homecoming, promoting school spirit, sending congratulation and benevolence cards, guiding new students, lowering flags in inclement weather, and possibly aiding a South American school if funds permit. They plan to act on Suggestion Box ideas and improve events.
