Local notices advertise a free moving picture show at the opera house Saturday afternoon and Clark's Store offering homemade sorghum at $1 per gallon. Small items mention cabbage at 24 cents per pound and various local visits, auctions, and farm news from Steele City and surrounding areas.

A three months trial subscription to the Daily States Journal for 50 cents is offered at the Press office. Passenger train No 3 was delayed about eight hours Wednesday by a wreck near Sabetha Kansas. Mr and Mrs M H Myers drove to Clifton Kansas Wednesday for the funeral of the infant child of Mr Myers brother. Charlie Wright left Wednesday to visit several spots then Scotts Bluff to work in the sugar factory with work starting Oct 6. Marvin Bracken of Casper Wyoming visited his uncle C R Bracken and his sister at Diller. Dr J S Taylor moved his household to Fairbury Saturday and are now living in R C Partlow of Sundance Wyoming visited until Monday with relatives. He came to Omaha with a shipment of cattle.
