Price List for Meats and Dairy Items
A historical price list shows meats and cheeses with per unit costs. Meats include shank 10 cents, hamburger 2 cents, sausage 25 cents, bacon 20 23 26 and 35 cents, smoked ham sliced 35 cents, picnic ham, minced ham, pressed ham, boiled ham. Dairy items feature brick cheese, cream cheese, Swiss cheese, homemade wines and bologna liver and pickles.
Rock Island marks T0th anniversary with Oct 10 celebration
The Rock Island railroad plans a large anniversary celebration October 10 in many towns along the line. Fairbury Chamber of Commerce formed a committee to coordinate a program with company officials. State Journal subscriptions offered at 1.00 daily and Sunday, 0.75 for Sundays only, with old papers available at the Press office.
