Grain Buyer Phelps Reports New Corn Deals
A. H. Phelps, the grain buyer, has contracted a large amount of new corn at 50 cents per bushel for December delivery. Three cars sold on the Chicago market this week. one at 55 cents and two at 50 cents. Wheat in Kansas City has run about one cent higher than Chicago for two weeks. Freight from Kansas City to Chicago adds about six cents per bushel, affecting Kansas City’s price.

M E Church Notes Sunday School and Services
The M E Church notes include Sunday school at 10am with preaching alternate Sundays at 12 am and 7 30 pm. A prayer meeting is held each Thursday at 7 30 pm. On Sunday morning October 22 the church will receive new members and administer baptism by sprinkling pouring or immersion. A new cement porch was added to the parsonage on the north side. Local Colt Show Draws Crowd and Judges Praise
The Saturday colt show drew many to town and offered entertainment and instruction. Judge Howard J. Gramlich of the State Farm at Lincoln awarded prizes and explained each animal’s good and bad points. Organizer Mr. Andrews plans an annual event with yearling prizes next year to boost local horse breeding and wealth. Prizes went to Chester Benenio, H. B. Allen, and others for top entries.
