Heart Day in Steele City to Aid Nebraska Children's Home Society
On Saturday October 18th students from 5th to 8th grade will sell hearts to raise funds for the Nebraska Children's Home Society. Eleven Jefferson county children and six Steele/Prairie donors are noted, with 156 children served April to July and 132 placed in homes. Local advisory board members Ms Sampson, Mrs Cassell, and Mrs Gretzhean urge support to place more homeless children.

Former Editor Leaves Steele City Paper for Nehawka Home
Former editor and publisher J. S. Rough of Nehawka Nebraska has left Steele City after fourteen years. He has been confined to bed since January 15 due to a lame back and moved between homes for care. Friends express sorrow and wish him comfort in his new surroundings as he recovers.

Sunday School Outing Ends With Weiner Roast
Two Sunday school classes enjoyed an evening outing Tuesday with a weinie roast along the river south of town. The boys class led by Emil Harris lost a church attendance cone test to Nellie Drake's girls class, who earned the treat. Twenty three attended the six o clock gathering at the south bridge for games and fun. Also, Harry Wilson and family with Mr and Mrs John Wilson visited Carroll Wilson in Fairbury recovering from a past auto accident.

Studely Nyce wedding linked to Colby Kansas area
Friends report the marriage of Mrs. Lilian Nyce to Mr. C. C. Studely of Colby Kansas. The ceremony occurred in Goodland Kansas on September 17. Mrs. Studely previously lived in Washington County and Ash Creek and Hollenberg where she worked as a telephone operator. They plan to reside on a farm seven miles west of Colby. Kansas Republican.
