J B Kerr buys a Grant car. Families move to and from Diller and Powell. Residents visit Omaha and Fairbury for AK Sar Ben festivities. Builders raise a granary, a hay barn, and electric wiring expands. School events and a temperance push highlight community life as a stock show approaches.
The Congregational church will host a series of sermons during October and November on lessons from the war. On October 8 Rev. Allen will discuss the causes of the war and promise engaging and instructive services. Everyone is invited.

Dillon comes from Chadron and was transferred after Father Day’s assignment. he is engaging and well regarded. Next Sunday he will preach in Mindicott and Steele City services are planned for October 15 morning and evening.
