Armistice Day Celebration in Fairbury Opens With Band and Speeches
Rainy weather forced flips in plans but by Tuesday the sky cleared. The Fairbury band performed, two free moving picture shows were shown, Rev Buckner and Capt Welsh spoke, navy veterans shared talks, and local races offered modest prizes. Soldiers and sailors ate free meals served by the M E Ladies Aid. Lieut Rinker canceled his Curtis machine visit due to ground conditions. fireworks capped the night under a strong northwest wind.
