Mrs. C R Bracken accompanied Miss Stella Fisher to Fairbury yesterday where Fisher sought an operation for the removal of her tonsils.

Mrs R S Wilfley travels to Rochester Minn. County grader active near town. Memorial day services planned in Steele City on May 30. Memorial day services moved to Sunday May 30 in Steele City with a morning procession from Main Street to the cemetery. Auto transport for those unable to walk. Afternoon program at 2 30 in the opera house features songs recitations music by quartets an address by Rev H B Allen and possibly others.
Eva B. Shuman, Steele City schools superintendent for two years, was appointed Jefferson County schools superintendent replacing Henry Abram who resigned and moved to California. A Doane College graduate and former Valley County superintendent, she began her new duties Monday as Mrs True handles office work to finish reports.
Freeman's in Fairbury lists new area rugs and refurbished used oil stoves for sale or trade. Fred Perkins advertises touring cars in running order and for sale. Guaranteed satisfactory service offered on the stoves.
The 14-year-old son of Orlie Prather of Reynolds ran away with a horse trader headed for Missouri. After meeting in Diller, the boy was brought back by his father with village marshal J. E. Copeland following the wagon east past the school. The trader allowed the boy to return with his father near Reynolds.
