A corn crib and two barns on Ross G Coons farm two miles southeast of Steele City were saved from destruction when Steele City firefighters and volunteers arrived after a fire started near a corn shelling rig. Fifteen autos and many extinguishers fought the blaze amid a strong wind with no determined origin.
