Mrs. M Silkett of Steele City aged 93 remains a devoted community supporter and regular at Steele City shows. Last Saturday the film Laddie impressed her with its unusually good presentation. She moved to Nebraska from Iowa via Odell after 35 years there and 27 years in Steele City. Another 93 year old neighbor R B Thompson near Steele City is also aging well.

Funeral rites for Mr Mitchell held at Iterian church
Funeral services were conducted at the Iterian church with burial in Steele cemetery for Mr Mitchell born June 6, 1850 in Hamilton Iowa. Monday evening the Janssens visited Fred Kenning's home. Tuesday saw Art and Fréd Kenning and John Janssen at a sale and Mr Eden moving to the Chalas farm west of Steele City. John Janssen helped Jack Maladhy butcher on Wednesday. Perry Cuthbert hauled wood for Bert McCord and Charley January last week. Mrs. Cuthbert hired Ernest Schmitt for farming this year. Others visited, including Mr Curry on Sunday and Will Carrico sawing wood. Families at John Malady’s hosted by Fred Kenning and others from Diller and nearby towns spent Sunday with the Bundy family.
