Steele City prepares to reopen an inn after a long gap with new owners Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bundy who plan to operate as a hotel and restaurant. They await weather to move in and will begin repairs and cleaning for a mid month opening.
All members and others interested in farming are urged to attend a Steele City meeting on Saturday March 8 at 2 30 PM to decide whether to buy or build an elevator. By order of the Secretary of Farmers Union.
A driver and friend take a ride but the car balks and bucks forcing a park-side stop. The friend warns about a road marked for pleasure vehicles only, revealing a humorous misunderstanding of the sign.
The Farmers State Bank announces readiness to assist with income tax returns due March 15. Tax thresholds are $2000 for heads of families and $1000 for single persons. Farmers must inventory all farm items as of January 1 1919, even if not paying 1918 tax, as the 1919 return will require it.
The U S Department of Labor establishes a permanent employment office at 6th and Edmond Streets St Joseph Missouri to aid farmers in finding farm help for the coming season.
