Youth Accidentally Shoots Boy Near Hollenberg Field

A young hunter shot the son of Mr and Mrs Roy Derrick while in a Nebraska field. He was treated by a Washington Kansas doctor and taken to Dr. Taylors hospital in Fairbury where he was improving. The report also notes air mail expansion and Nebraska’s potential as a mail hub.

Happenings At The Rink In Steele City This Week

The Steele City roller skating rink remains a popular evening pastime drawing all ages. A July 16 storm damaged the tent, with a new tent expected next week. July 23 featured a masquerade skate with prizes for best costumes. recent races drew mixed entries, including tub and ladies races with cash prizes. An August 6 hard time skating contest is planned. A primary Sunday School picnic at the city park drew sixty attendees. Read Bros. in Fairbury offers furniture.
