Last Friday afternoon Hear Crane arrived in Stanley with a five passenger touring car from Omaha. Fireworks purchased for the Ath were shot on Saturday evening. A heavy rainfall and stormy night hindered turnout from the countryside. Much damage occurred in town and rural areas from high water, though several nearby residents escaped drowning.
