Miss Emma Verbryké of Lima Ohio describes two years of stomach trouble and biliousness with dizziness. After trying Chamberlain's Tablets she rapidly improved. County Surveyor Rich was seen conducting survey work in the area yesterday.
An advertisement warns travelers to carry Chamberlains Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy, noting trains and steamships may not stock it and bowel attacks can be sudden and severe. Sold by all dealers.
Local notes report Steele City chautauqua set July 16 to 21 and the Steele City Stock Show October 4 to 6. The village board meets tomorrow night and several residents visit family in nearby towns. Weather notes show a 103 degree day with drought impact on crops. trains may be replaced by motor cars. Helen Pickering wed Evan MacLeod of Kennedy Nebraska on Thursday evening June 28 at the Pickering home. Rev H B Allen officiated as twin sisters Ruth and Esther Picker ing served as attendants. The couple will visit Yellowstone Park and plan a home near Kennedy after their return.
A large Endicott gathering marked by a Steele City band concert and various events. Wendell McCanless of Kansas City spoke as the principal speaker, with other old settlers delivering talks. Attendees traveled from near and far enjoying a full day of music, games, races, and platform programs.
In Steele City a meeting at the bank re-elected W. C. Palmer as president, R. S. Wilfley as secretary, and R. T. Garrett as treasurer for the upcoming district stock show. An executive committee was chosen including C. I. Clark F. W. Lowe and E. Shultz.
Arrangements have been made for a six day chautauqua in Steele City from Monday July 16 to Saturday July 21. The Jones Chautauqua Company presents two programs daily with trained talent. The event aims to be educational as well as entertaining and seeks a big community turnout. Season tickets are 1.50 for adults and 1.00 for children age 7 to 12, available at banks and local businesses. ask for a program.
The W C T U of Steele City organizes weekly work on ten soldier comfort bags to be filled with buttons darning cotton needles thread safety pins and other essentials plus a Testament Psalms and songs book and a mother letter. Members are urged to pay dues by October 1 as state and county books close and funds are needed to buy materials.
