Julia Quigley born April 5 1834 Mobile Alabama died December 30 1908 Thornburg Nebraska aged 74 years 8 months 25 days. Widow since 1872 with nine children seven living she raised them amid Missouri Iowa and Nebraska hardship and church work. Her children include Laura Bunting Frank M Quigley Horace C Quigley D M Quigley Fannie Law Seth Quigley and Deborah Blatchley. She joined Christian church young and later First Baptist in Steele City Nebraska.

Lindon Lodge No 146 Knights of Pythias held their annual oyster supper at Clapp's hall Thursday with installation of officers earlier. Members and friends enjoyed a well prepared meal and festive atmosphere marking 16 years of the lodge in Greek City.

First Homesteader Daniel Freeman Dies at 82 in Beatrice
Daniel Freeman, the first man to take a U.S. homestead, dies at his Beatrice home aged 82. He filed on a quarter section near Cub Creek seven miles northwest of Beatrice, certificate No. 1, and later fought to limit Bible reading in public schools, a case reaching the Nebraska Supreme Court.
