Robbery at Jose Lures Saloon and Burlington Car House

Robber entered Jose Lures saloon Monday night and carried off over thirty gallons of whiskey. A back door hole and a cut lock were found. Burlington car house break in with track velocipede and rifle stolen. Velocipede cash found on branch track suggests trip toward Kansas. Detectives pursue leads.

Ford Car Proves Versatile For Livery Use

J. D. Minkler lauds his Ford for reliability and economy in a year and a half of livery use. The car covered 7,115 miles last year with only gasoline and oil costs. no breakdowns, tire punctures, or blowouts occurred.

New Year Party At Clark Home For Francis

A New Year party was held at Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Clark’s home last Friday for their son Francis visiting from Kemper Military School Booneville Missouri. Guests enjoyed games, music, and refreshments as they welcomed the holiday visit. The second item reports the death of May Garratt, one day old, with funeral services conducted by Rev. E. H. Hinkle and a Methodist quartet providing music at Steele City cemetery. The Garratt family expresses thanks for community support and aid.
