River Bridge Damaged by High Water and Ice
High water and ice damaged about 80 to 100 feet of the south bridge Wednesday night. Commissioners planned to repair it with men to begin Monday. A farewell party honored Mr. KN Millce by his wife and fourteen friends. A Klause case was settled with the contestants deeded real estate to C L E Blauser and to pay each contestant 2500 plus court costs.

Old Jenkins mill torn down after serving frontier settlers
The oldest landmark in this area, the Jenkins Mill built in 1867 near Steele City, is being dismantled. It began as a saw mill then grinding grain mill, studied by pioneers and locals, with the town of Jenkins Mills nearby. The last operators sold it in 1911 and it has stood idle before its destruction by Wm. Luhm Jr. and Joe Davis.
