The note says they are busy invoicing and will offer Shoes, Blankets and Winter Goods next week. A car load delivers Beatrice Flour bran and Shorts with special prices in lots. They urge buyers not to assume cheaper options elsewhere and promise something good after invoicing.
A crowded week in Steele City and surrounding areas with sales of Poland China hogs and farm goods, theater and minstrel reports, school progress, Union Gospel meetings, and community notices. The Jefferson county license stats, road funds, and upcoming dances and lectures are noted amid cold weather and travel plans.
On account of revival meetings in progress the literary will be held tomorrow evening. There will be no religious services tomorrow evening.
On Thursday February 8 at 1 PM E S Condit will hold a public sale at his home mile east of the Steele Guy High School. The sale lists 7 head of horses 15 head of cattle all farm implements some alfalfa 150 bushels of oats and many other articles. Free lunch at noon.
Frank Brenneis purchases and shipments noted as Sunday and Monday events. Visits include Mrs Sim Justis and Mrs Fol man Bratten at Hastings and Fairbury. Others include Mrs Osborne with daughter and Mrs Lillie Smith visiting in Steele City. Embroidery Club meets with Miss Edna Seitz. ten ladies attend. Mack Ellison reported in the narrative.
Dist Supt M E Gilbert held services Sunday afternoon. Mrs Joseph Chancellor of Fairbury visited friends here Monday. Miss Sophia Kellie spent the week in Hastings Nebraska. A boy was born Sunday January 28 to Mr and Mrs Jim Swartz. Mrs Kellie’s nephew Sanburn from Canada is visiting. Ladies Aid Society met with Mrs F M Walburn. A literary program was delayed due to Mrs Stanley’s birthday.
Rosa Malady and Will Jones families visited neighbors this weekend. several attended a Norman Fenti man dance. Harmina Dina Hicken, born March 26 1892 at Jefferson county Nebr, married Lee Ehrhardt Jan 1 1914 and died in 1915. funeral at Prairie Hill church noted her faithful Christian life and family loss.
