Miss Arlie Wilcox returns home for vacation while Willis Silkett visits from Seneca Nebraska. Many residents travel for holidays including Ada Comstock to Lincoln and Arthur Bower working on a water tank at Fairfield. Christmas visits, new readers, and local business notes fill the week.
Tuesday afternoon in the Wright building the same officers and board of directors were re elected for another year. A four percent semi annual dividend was declared payable January 1 1911. The company praises patrons and hopes to improve service. Obituaries note the death of Graves father of Mrs Zoellin in Winnetka Illinois. Local items include reunion at the Cranes home and health news about Miss Wells, Rev Heyho, and Allen Phelps.
District No 1 monthly report for December 23 1910 lists high school 29 enrolled 27 attending with 13 tardies and names 10 students never absent or tardy. Intermediate department 22 enrolled 21 present with 2 tardies 2 visitors and 14 named non absentees. Primary department 30 enrolled 17 present with 5 tardies and 12 named non absentees. Includes program by high school students reading songs and recitations on Christmas and community notes on local real estate, post office help, and visits by residents.
