notices of Christmas Red Cross Seals offered at the post office. Various town residents travel or visit nearby cities including Davenport Lincoln Omaha Fairbury and Morrowville. A Woodmen Insurance claim and a wedding tour are among recent local happenings with several social calls noted.
Mr and Mrs James celebrated their golden wedding with a reception for about 150 guests at their home near Genese Illinois then moving to Nebraska in 1886 settling in Steele City. They have eight children with six living and plan to reside on Chas Barbers farm after March 1. Also reported is Geo Crane injuring his little finger in a car incident on the way to Rt. Joe.
Despite severe weather a church supper succeeded socially and financially. A set of farm sales, wills, travel plans, auto mishap near Endicott, marriages, and business reorganizations are reported with names such as Ruth Shepard, T N Reiber, Hollenberg, Neumann, Handley, Whybark, Carrel, Roderick, Mitchell, Burst, Kelley, Lowe, Jacks, Cunningham, Hunnicutt.
Officers elected include M W W O Bundy and F A M Wilcox with O A T Phelps R H B Rucker F A H Phelps as trustees. Treasurer L S Peterson and W Q O W J R Zweifel noted.
