The Fairbury News reports Jefferson County is now accredited and hog shipments qualify for a 10 cents per hundred pounds bonus. Inspections were slow due to late start and several counties ahead, but the program promises long term benefits beyond the bonus.
Mrs and Mrs Malachy celebrated their ain wedding anniversary with Mr and Mrs C Compton on Sunday. Mrs May from KMA radio dedicated a song. Mrs Packer solfeited for California Perfume Co. in the neighborhood Friday. Mr Curry's children sick with tonsillitis last week. Curry worked for Perle Nutter. Otho Curry hauled corn to Endicott for John Stone. Willy Kelly shelled corn for Ka Sermins and Compton brothers last Wednesday. Russell Troxel took a lead to Axtell Kansas for Mrs Ford and Mrs Anson Smith. Norman Fentiman threshing Kaffir corn this week.
After 22 years and 20 000 miles the silver trowel sent out in 1905 by Justine Lodge No 753 of New York has returned. It traveled to mountain tops, rivers 260 feet below sea level and touched the graves of Washington Lincoln and Roosevelt. It was welcomed by governors and consecrated by twelve Grand Lodges during the long journey. Ed Fuqua Mrs Jacob Measmér and Mia Carl Schulte were visitors to the county hub Saturday afternoon.
The Presbyterian Church reports Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and Christian Endeavor at 6:45 p.m. The Hi-Y led by Prof. Caster entertained with an evening service amid praise. Bazaar success noted with 150 served and $139.88. Future services include a radio service if weather allows, a Christmas Cantata, a children’s tree, and Christmas Eve plays. Building fund shows assets about $6,267 with liabilities $6,813, urging fund-raising to cover the shortfall. Mrs. Breazeal leaves for Colorado.
