A fragmentary dialogue features Jobe G complaining of misunderstanding and a challenge to role play. A facetious speaker mocks cynicism and philosophical pretension regarding martyrdom and perception.
About 1400 in state and federal support will fund a farm workshop at Steele City schools. Boys will build and use a shop with 20 tool benches plus 21 tools in storage, work on rafter cutting, stock judging, soils, crops, and farm trips. Next year dairy, farm make, and basketball plans are outlined.
At a county board meeting last week C C Andrews of Steele City and Frank Warren of Reynolds were chosen to work with County Superintendent Abrams on redistricting under the latest legislature. Andrews is well known across much of the county for his ability and standing. Warren is less known here but regarded as suitable. Redistricting will begin soon with districts of five miles square and high school privileges for each district.
The program runs Wednesday through Sunday with lectures music and drama. Evening performances feature Eldridge Wallin and The Galgano Pageant and The Lion and the Mouse. Afternoon attractions include The Gate City High School Quartet and Mormonism history discussion. Season tickets for Rahm Concert Orchestra available now.
Children aged five to fifteen will perform in a pageant shaped from Story Plays Singing Games Folk Games and athletic and team activities. The junior worker arrives days before the opening to coach the participants and the week of work culminates in the pageant which should entertain and engage many children.
A house on the Ernest Hahne farm five miles north of Steele City was destroyed by fire last Sunday between 6 and 7 pm. Al Steffens and hired man escaped as flames cut off escape from the upstairs. The origin is unknown. several nearby buildings were saved from sparks. House insured for 500 dollars. furniture and belongings insured for 500.
L. P. Starkey, formerly of this town, has organized the Starkey Oil & Gas Co in Fort Collins. The firm plans to sell $10 per share stock to fund filling stations and distribution of oils tires tubes and auto accessories.
ML E Church notes a regular morning service at 11 o'clock with old time worship. In the evening Rev Lida Herrick will lecture on the Triple Alliance of Evil. Herrick is a field worker for the Nebraska Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Everyone invited. Pastor T C Priestley.
Bob Cline of New York and Co lumbaa Ohio enters the big Auto Race meet at the Nebraska State Fair on Labor Day. Fred Horey former world Champion and Sig Haugdahl world champion contender set to meet in a match race as part of the entertainment program.
