House restoration underway for Lew Wolf residence
Lew Wolf’s newly purchased house is being refurbished to a premier town residence. W. E. Willey shingled the roof and will paint the exterior white, finish oak floors and woodwork inside, with the kitchen kept gray. Walls are to be redecorated, a built in cupboard added, and a barn replaced by a concrete floored garage and chicken house.

Rail crews replace 75 lb rails with 90 lb rails on the U P Extra line. A hundred workers and a large crane speed setup with minimal train delays as old rails are torn up and new ones prepared for tying. The upgrade, though costly, aims to improve capacity for heavy freight traffic.

Man Touched Live Wire Killed at Odell
A tragedy occurred late Tuesday at the Odell picnic when Ben L Hendricks of Elk Creek Nebraska touched a live wire and was killed. He was 37 years old, leaves a wife and three children, and ran a horse shoe concession stand. A baseball game is set for Sunday August 7 at Fairbury with Fairchilds Clay Products Co. versus Wymore Legion. The Wymore Legion has won 17 of 19 and Fairchilds 14 of 15. Adm 50e.
