The Degree of Honor lodge welcomed seventeen Fairbury visitors Monday night. They joined in the program and supper, enjoying the social and charitable work at the local lodge event.
The regular Ladies' Aid meeting will be held May 6. Members are asked to come prepared to help clean up the North Church. Subscribe for your home paper.
An engagement party for Miss Mina Palmer and Mr. Mike Palmer was held in Nampa with a decorative champagne channel centerpiece, guests in festive attire, a five course dinner, and toasts. Mike Palmer teaches at Nampa High School. Mina Palmer a Denver University graduate and Delta Zeta member. The wedding is expected this summer.
Reverend B W Davis leads Sunday activities at Steele City Presbyterian Church. Sunday School at 10 am, Morning Worship at 11 am, Christian Endeavor at 7 15 pm, Evening Service at 8 pm. Evening hours shifted earlier due to longer days.
John Timothy Stone advocates using come rather than go to invite people to services. He argues posters and ads should invite, not command, noting the biblical example where God tells Noah to come into the ark. The word come signifies personal presence and welcome from the inviter.
From the Bulletin of Nebraska City Presbytery. Thirty one ministers attended with forty four congregations represented. Rev Marry 66 and Rev Thomas R Hollingsworth led the election of Principal Commissioners to the General Assembly in Columbus Ohio from May 21. The New Pension Plan received approval and updates were noted for future reports. Riders to landis of Seward, Spicer of Beat pies, and Shirin of Pawnee City participated in the proceedings.
The Presbyterian Church through its Christian Education Board promotes Christianity in all education levels from primary to graduate studies. It provides Sunday school materials, supports missionary outreach, funds two dozen theological students, aids endowments, and encourages higher teaching standards to strengthen society.
Dr Numbers graduates from the University of Idaho and Rush Medical College Chicago. He is a member of Kappa Sigma and Nu Sigma Nu fraternities.
