April Snow Storm Overwhelmed Roads and Orchards

A strong April snow storm with winds up to fifty miles per hour piled snow into deep drifts across roads and railroad cuts from Lincolntown to Hiawatha. Trees and outbuildings suffered damage while telephone lines broke. Most fruit blooms are lost due to hard freezes, likely wiping out late fruit expectations. The storm reached from the lakes to the Rockies with heavier damage in other regions.
