Democrats Eugene E Duffy Jr Fermin Diaz Maria Rodriguez Enildo Rodriguez advance. Pacelli not relected. Duffy leads Democratic side with 96 votes.

Hazle Township supervisor candidate wins uncontested nomination
Hazle Township resident Robert Fiume, a Hazleton Area School Board director, won the Republican nomination for a six year board of supervisors seat with 612 votes. Unopposed on the GOP ballot, 209 write-ins appeared on the Democratic ballot though not broken out. Fiume also serves as executive director of the Luzerne County Transportation Authority and proposed continuing community service if elected. Democrat Dennis Dudeck was dropped from the ballot for missing a filing deadline.

Wendy Danchision won a three way Republican primary for the East Union Two supervisor seat and will face Democrat John Dettery in November. Unofficial tallies showed Danchision with 164 votes, Liz Tolan 101, and 58 for nomination. Dettery, unopposed in the Democratic race, had 75 votes. James Esposito Jr.
