Jury finds Torner guilty in 2015 Foster Two homicide
Luzerne County jury convicted Roberto Torner of first degree murder and related charges for a 2015 killing in Foster Two. The 50 year old faced life in prison on the homicide count and was also found guilty of conspiracy and solicitation to commit homicide linked to the poisoning dismemberment and burning of Jose Pepe Herran at a Buck Mountain Road property. Torner voiced disappointment as defense counsel declined further comment.

Luzerne County picks Crocamo to start early as manager
Romilda Crocamo will begin as Luzerne County manager on May 25, a week ahead of the scheduled start after the May 9 appointment. She confirmed the plan Thursday with council Chairwoman Kendra Waugh and noted she wants to get started. An attorney from West Hazleton, Crocamo previously served as chief solicitor 2016 to 2021 and acted as county manager since then.
