English learners earn Hazleton Area scholarships
Five students who arrived as English learners at Hazleton Area schools will graduate next month with college scholarships. Raymichel Puello Pena heads to Bloomsburg University on a $28,000 four year scholarship to become a registered nurse. Manuel Montes Perez will study health care administration at King's College on a $96,000 four year scholarship. Fellow recipients Ian Trinidad Guerrero Johansel Brito Sanchez and Janik Diaz also completed the district program. The program serves 3,100 students across 13 schools with daily English language instruction from elementary through high school.
