The Katy Railroad may start freight runs from Stamford to Wichita Falls over the Wichita Valley line starting Monday. Trains to Stamford to Rotan stay the same, with a five day weekly schedule. Cars transfer at Stamford, Katy crews move them to Wichita Falls and back to Katy tracks toward Denison.

Robbery Suspects Arrested in Abilene
Two Negro men aged 24 and 28 were arrested in Abilene on suspicion of car theft and armed robbery of the Wylie Oil Co in Stamford. The Stamford heist netted about $357 after a knife threat and assault. Police identify connections to a stolen car, with ongoing Haskell County investigations into an assault on a Mid-C Central Fish Co driver and related break-ins on the Haskell highway.

Osment Services Scheduled Today
Mrs. Earl F. Osment, 71, died at her home seven miles west of Stamford at 9 15 p m Tuesday after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p m at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Southerland and Rev. James Andrews of New Deal officiating. She was born Maude Catherine Appling in Hill County and married Mr. Osment April 12, 1914 at the home of her parents. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband two daughters Mrs Emmett Askin of Snyder and Mrs W D Rhea Jr of Houston one son Joe Osment one brother Crockett Appling seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
