Kouri No 1 Oil Well Near Stamford Draws Attention
The Kouri No 1 well situated about 14 1 2 miles east of Stamford stood 600 feet in oil and water on Tuesday morning with roughly 200 feet oil and 400 feet water. Depth estimated around 1550 feet, not yet reaching the Adams oil zone. Nearby land offers up to 15 dollars per acre for a half royalty as the Boldin place and Bairds farm line are nearby with oil shown in a fruit jar at Mr Baird’s store. Another well is planned within two weeks.

Stamford Cotton Receipts Reach 3731 Bales This Week
The Stamford cotton yard reported 3731 bales received up to noon Wednesday, well above last year’s 2400 by public weigher Joe Ro Jones. Rain slowed arrivals, with an estimated 4000 to 4500 bales possible in clear weather. Prices ranged from 21 to 21 1/2 cents per pound.

Edmonston Veteran Dies At 90 In Home
J P Edmonston died at his Campbell Street home Monday morning. He was 90, with age listed as the cause. Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev Fred Rogers, with Ho A Kight assisting. Burial followed at Valley View with a Masonic service. Surviving are his wife Mia Jennie Buie Radmonston and eight children in Oklahoma City, Hereford, Fraineville, Denton, California, Oklahoma, Dallas, and one more location. Penick Hughes Company led funeral arrangements. pallbearers named.

Obituaries and notices from Levelland and Leonard area
Mrs. Ernest Rosamond died Friday at Levelland and was buried there Saturday. Her husband Ernest Rosamond is the eldest son of W. J Rosamond, and they lived here until moving to Levelland a year ago. The Rosamonds were joined by W. J Rosamond who went to Levelland for the funeral. Survived by husband four sons and one daughter. Mrs. Ade Macon formerly of Stamford died Thursday at her mother’s home in Leonard after a long illness. She leaves two children a boy and a girl ages twelve and nine. I. E. Macon Cleo Macon Mrs. W H Hargrove and Mrs. Lynn Flowers went to Leonard for the funeral. A Dollar Social will be given by the Woman’s Missionary Society of St. John’s Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 4 30 at the home of Mrs. J. H. Rutherford. All the women of the church are invited. J L Costlow employed by Chevrolet Motor Company at Aspermont spent the week end with his family here.
