Funeral services were held for Bruno Ficker Sr. at Kinney Funeral Home with Rev. Joe V. Grimes presiding. Interment followed at Long Branch cemetery near Carbon with rites by Rev. Lee Fields. Ficker, 89, born December 1 1858 in Saarbrucken Germany, died Friday at 5 05 AM in Wichita Falls hospital. He emigrated to the United States in 18% and lived in Bastrop Milam Eastland Carbon Sueders and finally near Carbon. Survivors include wife Dorthea Kehler and a large family of children grandchildren and great grandchildren. Relatives from out of town attended.

City Council last Friday passed a measure regulating the sale of milk and milk products in Stamford. The ordinance bans adulterated misbranded or ungraded milk with emphasis on homogenized or ungraded products and requires proper branding when grading is misrepresented. Mrs. Raymond Miller suffered a fractured knee in a crash on a narrow bridge while en route to a country picnic with her husband Mr. Miller and sons Kem and Russell. Camp Fire Girls Finance Drive Opens October 5 in West Texas

Stray Shot Strikes Woman in Moving Car in Pasture
Mrs. Fred Knipling and her husband were driving through the Bunker Hill Plainview area when a stray dove hunter shot went across the vehicle. The shot grazed Mrs. Knipling back leaving a welt but did not break the skin.
