Mrs Scott Dies At Lueders Home
Mrs. Sarah Leah Scott widow of W. E. Scott and long-time Jones county resident died at her Lueders home Thursday at 7 am after years of illness. Funeral at Lueders Baptist Church Friday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Roy Shahan. Burial in Clear Fork cemetery beside her husband. She was born February 26 1863 in Georgia. Survived by three daughters Mrs H C Burnett Mrs R S Garrett Mrs Beatrice Reed and two sons G B and John W Scott plus fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Small Residence Destroyed by Fire on Berthelot Street
Fire on South Berthelot street Sunday night destroyed a small residence owned by G. C. Carothers. The Smith Bruce family lived there, but no one was believed to be home when the blaze started. The house was insured, though the Bruce furniture was not.

Mrs W B Tayman and her father C H Haizlip of Dallas left Stamford Monday for Dallas to attend the funeral of Mrs Tayman s brother in law Hugh Fulkerson. He had lived in Dallas and recently worked with a Buick agency in Houston. He was killed in an automobile accident between Houston and Galveston Sunday afternoon.

Two Men Arrested After Seed Theft from Gin in Anson
Stamford men are jailed in Anson awaiting grand jury action charged with stealing cotton seed from the gin last week. Flournoy notified Abilene department which traced the theft to two men who sold a trailer load of cotton seed at the Abilene oil mill for 37.50. The case will be presented to the grand jury when it reconvenes next week.
