Cup Presented To Stamford Scouts Sunday Evening
Stamford Troop 40 of the Boy Scouts received the Chisholm Trail council camporee trophy Sunday night at St. John's Methodist Church. Scout Executive Ed Shumway of Abilene presented the cup to L. W. Johnson, who passed it to Scoutmaster F. W. Pauling. The troop earned permanent possession by winning top honors in 1932 1933 and 1935. Members presented Mr. Pauling an engraved fountain pen, and Mr. Shumway closed with a solo titled Old Faithful.

The school system opened Monday with registrations reaching 992 by Wednesday afternoon, 20 fewer than a year earlier. Ford Haley Appointed Principal Clerk in CCC Service
