Stamford schools report well over 1050 students with late registrations still being added. Seventh grade lists 103 pupils the highest class, Oliver School shows 238 and Reynolds 309, while Washington and Bomar Heights register smaller totals. Neighbors Harvest Maize For Mourning Widow
Over 100 acres of maize were harvested by six neighbors for Mrs. J. H. Rivers on August 29. Thompson Youth Breaks Ankle at Bulldog Field
William Hirman Thompson broke his left ankle during a football scrimmage at Bulldog field Monday around 4 45 p m. Earlier that day a graveside service was held at Highland cemetery for his infant brother Lloyd Ernest Thompson stillborn at the Stamford Sanitarium. Kinney Funeral Home conducted the funeral and an ambulance assisted the boy to the sanitarium. Parents are Mr and Mrs Lloyd Thompson of Stamford.

William Harvey Patterson age 70 was found dead near a cow pen at the family home 11 miles south of Avoca. Death due to natural causes from heart trouble. Inquest by Sheriff and Justice of Peace returned verdict of natural death. Funeral held at Stamford Church of Christ with burial in Highland cemetery. Survivors include wife Mary Ella McCloud five sons two brothers two sisters and 11 grandchildren.
