The administration announced 9 cent loans on the 1937 cotton crop to buoy prices and support growers. Eligibility for a 3 cent per pound subsidy applies to 65 percent of this year's base production under a 1938 adjustment program. About 235 Stamford children left at 1 45 pm Thursday for the Sunshine Special picnic at the Leeders Baptist Encampment grounds after a parade with a police escort. Henry Bryan Suffers Second Neck Injury in Four Years
Henry Bryan fractured his neck Monday while leaping from a car overturning on an embankment east of Leeders. He had a prior neck injury four years ago after being struck on the chin by a belt while working in Stamford. The Rite Theater on North Heenton Avenue has been remodeled and will open Friday night with fall showings. Manager J Hodge says the venue will show comedies, musical pictures, Westerns, and dramas plus shrewd westerns, with tickets at 10 and 16 cents.
