Flower Show Next Week To Be Best Ever
The annual Flower Show by the Ladies Aid of Central Christian church will be held Tuesday to Thursday November 17 to 19 in the City Auditorium. Prizes total about 350 dollars with two entertainment nights directed by Evelyn Baker and Mrs. Allen Loftin. New features include a most useful home article prize and a children’s work department. Proceeds fund the church building, with the show aiming for its best year yet.

A lively Armistice Day banquet in Stamford and Central West Texas drew ex service men from Stamford Anson Haskell Hamlin Rule Munday and nearby towns. The Stamford Bulldogs fell to Spur 6 0 after a rough first half and a late Bulldog rally failed to cross the line. Bruce starred for Stamford with five touchdowns and four kick goals in the Hamlin contest. earlier Stamford beat Hamlin 34 to 13 on Armistice Day. The Spur win came as Spur proved stronger in the mud and in the line, despite Stamford’s aerial attempts and a late drive near the Spur 8 yard line. The crowd was small due to delays and weather.

Nine Confirmed And Full Quotas Met at St. Luke's
The Rt. Rev. E. C. Seaman conducted morning and evening services at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Stamford where nine candidates were confirmed. The class, the largest this church has seen, included George F. Turpin E Clyde Whaley Roy E Reed John T Reed Richard Jones Burt R King Mrs Burt R King Miss Helen Lyles and Miss Alice Lyles. Two prepared for confirmation were absent due to sickness. About 50 took Holy Communion, also a Stamford Episcopal record. The parish also met its $28 000 quota for the Amarillo Episcopal district headquarters, becoming the first North Texas church to complete its quota.
